With the two newly formulated cutting oils, rhenus EP 12 S and rhenus EP 22 S, Rhenus Lub GmbH & Co KG brings a new generation of products on the market, with which customers can cut more environmentally friendly and efficiently. They are free of chlorine and heavy metals, such as lead, zinc and barium, and are characterised by low mist formation, thanks to special additives. Users can also make significant cost savings with the innovative lubricants, as they can extend tool service life by up to 300 percent. At the same time, they reduce consumption by half compared with other cutting oils.
“Thanks to polar compounds, the coolants demonstrate high connectivity, and good adhesion to the metal surfaces in machining. This enabled us to keep the top-up concentrations very low”, explains Daniele Kleinmann, Product Manager for Forming at Rhenus Lub. In addition, the oils have a high performance which not only extends the tool service life. They also achieve the best machining results in different applications, and are the first choice for numerous customers of the Mönchengladbach lubricant specialists when it comes to heavy cutting of alloy and high-alloy steels.
Users also reach out for these innovative high-performance oils in the machining of non-ferrous metals and aluminium alloys. “rhenus EP 12 S and 22 S EP are true all-rounders, so our customers can significantly reduce the variety of lubricant types in the company. They also optimally manage difficult machining operations, such as the deep drilling of small diameters – and even with high-alloy steels”, says Daniele Kleinmann.
The low-emission cutting oils prove convincing in practice with slow, heavy machining operations, such as milling, profile milling, sheet milling and planing. In addition, tests have demonstrated that rhenus EP 12 S and rhenus 22 S EP achieve optimal results in thread machining, such as thread milling and thread drilling. Thanks to its particular environmental compatibility, the new cutting oils are also distinguished by a special compatibility in contact with elastomers. They help to avoid changes to the mechanical properties of the sealing materials.
